The year is Cosmic Era 76. Following the events of the previous year, (involving the Librarian Works, ZAFT, and the Earth Alliance) minor skirmishes and battles against each other are still being fought. These battles are being fought by both sides, with no real end in sight. Despite this, neither side has chosen to escalate the conflict for fear of destruction on the scale of the previous wars. Throughout all this, the Orb Union, the United States of South America, and a few other nations have managed to remain neutral without any pressure to take sides. However, a new threat looms ever closer. One that may be more terrible than anything that anyone has encountered before: The Jovian Empire. Its fleet is approching beneath everyones notice. A ghost from the past bent on revenge aginst the entire Earth Sphere, and in the backdrop of it all, a new world called Planet X; orbiting opposite the Earth around the sun, shrouded in secrecy, and hidden from prying eyes, it beckons to most who learn about it and may hold the key to Humanity's future.
